I began my career as an Electronics Technician in the United States Coast Guard where I deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2001 receiving the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Afterward, I worked at Chabot Space & Science Center helping to construct "Nellie" a 36" reflecting telescope currently used for public astronomical viewing. I simultaneously attended the University of California at Berkeley studying Integrative Biology and Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology under the auspices of Marion Diamond and Jeffrey Winer. A serendipitous meeting with Charles Yingling on the San Francisco Bay in 2008 brought me into the field of neurophysiology and ignited a mentor/protégé relationship that lasted until his death in 2021. I founded Evoked Potential, a double entendre meant to infer both the ubiquitous electrical tests used in the operating room and the idea of galvanizing ones usefulness into action in 2015. I have been working as a surgical neurophysiologist that performs intraoperative neurophysiology during complex neurosurgery in the operating room for over 15 years.
