Frank Panza: Founder & CEO of Evoked Potential
I began my career as an Electronics Technician in the United States Coast Guard where I deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2001 and received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Afterward, I worked at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, CA helping to construct "Nellie" a 36" reflecting telescope currently used for public astronomical viewing. I simultaneously attended the University of California at Berkeley, studying both Integrative Biology and Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology, under the auspices of Marion Diamond and Jeffrey Winer. A serendipitous meeting with Dr. Charles Yingling on the San Francisco Bay on August 8, 2008 ushered me into the field of surgical neurophysiology and ignited a mentor/protégé relationship that lasted until his death in 2021. I founded Evoked Potential, a double entendre meant to infer both the ubiquitous electrical tests used in the operating room and the idea of galvanizing ones usefulness into action, in 2015 to work as an independent contractor. I have been working as a surgical neurophysiologist that performs intraoperative neurophysiology during complex neurosurgery in the operating room for 17 years.
