Evoked Potential uses the Atlas of Human Anatomy and Surgery by Jean-Baptiste Bourgery (1797-1849), with illustrations by Nicolas-Henri Jacob (1782–1871). Bourgery was a French physican and anatomist that lived from 1797 to 1849. Although the anatomical drawings are not official reference material, the painstaking detail and accuracy is absolutely remarkable. It illustrates the fine capabilities of the combination of both an artistic and scientific mind while capturing a renaissance moment of discovery.
The work illustrates descriptive anatomy, surgical anatomy and surgical techniques (exploring in detail nearly all the major operations that were performed during the first half of the 19th century). It is one of the most comprehensive and beautifully illustrated anatomical treaties every published. Bourgery's masterpiece was originally published in eight volumes and was completely republished by Taschen in 2005.
